My friend Aaroneous has drawn a line in the sand pledging not to blog about something unless he really feels it.
*Sigh* I wish I had his ideals. I have taught him much, but this he did not learn from me. If I got nothing, I often post anyway. Like with this post right here.

Just Some of the Crazy Weird Stuff I’ve Encountered in Church Life

- We have been invited by passers-by to visit their church on Sunday–after telling them we pastored a congregation. (This has happened more than once.)
- A local mega-church pastor, who knew who we were, once openly tried to recruit one of our college girls to leave our house church and come to his mega-church.
- While attending an Easter pageant at one of the larger churches in town, our teenage son was approached by a grinning church volunteer who shoved a tract in his hand, apparently assuming he was not a Christian because he was not dressed like a typical youth-grouper.
I Don’t Know How To Describe How I’m Feeling Just Now

It feels kind of like a deep stirring in the soul, something difficult to put to words.
It feels like a bittersweet blend of pathos, longing and hope…like you want to cry, but you aren’t sad, and you can’t find a reason.
Yes, guys have these moments. We just don’t like to admit it. 🙂
It’s a deep feeling, almost like a groaning…almost something best expressed in music or art…but it isn’t quite clear yet how it should be expressed. Like something wants to be emerge, to be born from the intangible mass of emotion.
Geesh, that’s sappy.

To all who left comments, and mainly to all who have been praying for us over the past couple of days…thank you so much.
Sorry I have be a bit vague about this, but the good news is basically that there has been no news. Much speculation, but thus far no change that drastically affects us. It’s not a settled issue; we still have to take it day by day and continue to lean on God, and not on our circumstances. So those things I asked you to be praying about are still good things to pray for us, as God brings us to mind. 🙂 But the 48-hour period where we were watching intently has passed without a significant event, and that’s a good thing.
Crazy Times

I’m not sure why this is, but it seems like seasons of transition can be accompanied by so much chaos and upheaval.
I realize that we’re sort of “in between” seasons right now–something I’ve mentioned before. But it’s uncanny how much turbulence has occured in recent days, not just in our lives but in the lives of others around us. And the really weird thing is…the situations are unrelated to one another, but just all seem to be happening at once. At times like this, it’s hard to believe it isn’t something spiritual taking place.

Words I See All the Time But Nobody Seems to Know What They Actually Mean

I am a bit of a wordsmith. I like to write, and I like to talk (and I like to hear myself talk–a dynamic that doesn’t happen in blogland). I like to think that I have a formidable command of the English language, with an expansive repertoire of vocabulary words.
Indubitably. (I just threw that in for effect.)
A short rabbit trail…I used to have this friend named Ernesto that could blow us all out of the water vocabulary-wise. He was a preacher, and he had no problem getting up in front of everybody and throwing words out there like parametrage (which isn’t even English) and look at us all like we were supposed to know what it meant. Anyhow.
I’m Back, The Blog Is One Year Old, and…Oh, By the Way, Happy New Year

Got back to Tulsa last night; got up this morning and delivered flowers. Needless to say, there has been little time for blogging the past couple of days. But I’m back now. Hi, there.
During this lapse…yesterday, to be exact…this blog turned one year old. Woo hoo!
