My friend Aaroneous has drawn a line in the sand pledging not to blog about something unless he really feels it.

*Sigh* I wish I had his ideals. I have taught him much, but this he did not learn from me. If I got nothing, I often post anyway. Like with this post right here.

My name is Jeff, and I am a compulsive blogger. (Oh, great. ANOTHER thing to go to counseling about.) 🙂

But to come to the point…let me tell you why I am posting this waste-of-time interludish post today.

As many of you know, I deliver flowers a few days per week, for extra cash and an opportunity to do stuff outside of church circles. And as many more of you probably know, this is Valentine’s Day weekend. Aaaannd…as some of you might have guessed…this is the absolute busiest time of year for those of us in “the biz”, as we like to call it.

Just letting you know that if the posting is a bit sparse the next couple of days…that would probably be the reason. But not to worry…I’ll be working up a new series soon.

Musician. Composer. Recovering perfectionist. Minister-in-transition. Lover of puns. Hijacker of rock song references. Questioner of the status quo. I'm not really a rebel. Just a sincere Christ-follower with a thirst for significance that gets me into trouble. My quest has taken me over the fence of institutional Christianity. Here are some of my random thoughts along the way. Read along, join in the conversation. Just be nice.

    Barb,
Few people do…but everyone should. And if they have not done so, they can mail their tip to Jeff McQ, PO Box….

Kidding aside, we rarely get tips, usually because the flowers are a gift from someone else, and we don’t necessarily expect the recipient to tip for something he/she did not order. But some people are just nice and do it anyway. When I do get a tip, it’s usually generous–like “sympathy tips” when it’s a large order delivered in bad weather, or a “guilt tip” like when a guy forgets his wife’s birthday and is home when I deliver the arrangement to her. 🙂 Stuff like that.

    Jeff,
No problem! I can definitely understand why you will be busy over this weekend! It’s probably, as you said, THE number 1 busiest floral delivery season of the year!!

    Have a great Valentine’s Day!

    Blessings,
    ~Amy 🙂
