Man, That Felt Good

Can I share a moment of personal achievement with you?

Yesterday, I went and did something that, to my knowledge, I have never done, ever, in my whole life.

I went to the mall and bought a pair of smaller jeans.

(It was getting almost to the point that I needed to go around holding my pants up with one hand.)

In the past five weeks (since Jan. 1), I have lost 17 pounds. That’s for a total of 31 pounds since I started trying to lose weight in earnest.

To borrow a line from Stacy the Hooting Waiter:

“Woo Hoo!”

Musician. Composer. Recovering perfectionist. Minister-in-transition. Lover of puns. Hijacker of rock song references. Questioner of the status quo. I'm not really a rebel. Just a sincere Christ-follower with a thirst for significance that gets me into trouble. My quest has taken me over the fence of institutional Christianity. Here are some of my random thoughts along the way. Read along, join in the conversation. Just be nice.

So PROUD OF YOU!! I have not been following :sorry-drowning in school: what you are doing different??

PS- Stacy the happy waiter has an AWESOME name AND knows how to spell it correctly. 😉

    Thanks, Spankie and Ruth. 🙂

    Stacy,
The first 14 pounds were lost slowly using an over-the-counter fat burner and working out regularly; but I plateaued for about six months because I had no discipline in the food department. I’m currently under medical supervision with a weight doctor, taking a cocktail of appetite supressants and a metabolism booster. It’s reduced my average meal portion by about 50%, giving me a boost to learn new habits. It’s working. 🙂

Good 4 u! I’m almost there – down a couple of belt notches. Just eating better – eating less, eating more often (that’s the fun part) but need to bump up the activity.
