This is one of my current faves. I love the counter-culture vibe Cash always had, and I really relate to the theme of the song. (They play this song on the local alternative station, too.) Enjoy!

Musician. Composer. Recovering perfectionist. Minister-in-transition. Lover of puns. Hijacker of rock song references. Questioner of the status quo. I'm not really a rebel. Just a sincere Christ-follower with a thirst for significance that gets me into trouble. My quest has taken me over the fence of institutional Christianity. Here are some of my random thoughts along the way. Read along, join in the conversation. Just be nice.

Cash is perhaps my favorite hero. He was flawed, open, and true to who is was until the end. His artistry has an authenticity that is off the charts, which is why so many of his covers came to be more associated with him than the original artists. This is one of favorite of his songs because it fits his persona so well. Great back up by Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers. It is a nice edge to it.
