September and October (and sometimes August)

This isn’t something I can really prove scientifically or anything…but it seems like God sort of maintains His own seasons in my life at certain times of the year.

Take the late summer/early fall months, for example. August, September and October. It seems like these are really seasons of harvest and change for us. If there is any sort of life change for us, it usually takes place during these months. October was the month we moved to Tulsa. October was also the month we moved to Broken Arrow. August was the month we married. There’s other stuff that’s happened during these months, also–extra blessings from God, stuff like that. I dunno. It just seems that way.

There are other apparent significant seasons in our year, also. December 19 seems to be a huge date for me for new beginnings–among other things, it is the date I got engaged to The Wild One, and the date we started the church.

You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want to. It just seems like a pattern to me.

All that to say…we have some sense of anticipation for this fall season. We have felt like we’re in the in-between in some ways in our lives, and we are seeking and waiting for God to reveal some things to us. So naturally we have some hope and anticipation that this is a season for that revelation to come.

What about you? Do you have any seasons of significance like that?

Musician. Composer. Recovering perfectionist. Minister-in-transition. Lover of puns. Hijacker of rock song references. Questioner of the status quo. I'm not really a rebel. Just a sincere Christ-follower with a thirst for significance that gets me into trouble. My quest has taken me over the fence of institutional Christianity. Here are some of my random thoughts along the way. Read along, join in the conversation. Just be nice.

Yes, and they drive me crazy 🙂 Spring time has been a time where prophets have said that we will experience a breakthrough in finances and kingdom things. I don’t even know whether to believe the prophecies anymore. Some came from big name people but some came from people that had nothing to gain if they came true. So every spring – around the time that the lilac’s bloom, I am full of anticipation of what God might do or say. I’ve learned to relax a bit in the past years and not suffer disapointment when it did not come to pass.
