Remember Some of the All-Time Great Villains?…

Categories: movies, What the heck was THAT?

Hannibal Lecter?

Freddie Krueger?

Darth Vader??

Amateurs.

Hands down…the Joker sets a new standard in movie villainry. At least…Heath Ledger’s version of him.

I think they’ll have to retire the Joker after this one. I can’t imagine anyone coming close to Ledger’s performance. (Sad, though, that he is not here to see it.)

Oh…Christian Bale was pretty good as Batman, too. 🙂

Little kids should not see this movie. Everyone else…go.

It is especially fun to watch at midnight with a theater full of fanatics.

(Yawn) I think I need a nap.

There was a brief second last night when a friend and I thought about it. He had to study and pack(he’s moving this weekend), and I needed sleep after staring at a computer screen all day yesterday. Now, I’ll probably just wait until it hits the $1 theater.

I’m still waiting for the Indiana Jones movie to make it there.

I love Heath Ledger. But my shift at work precluded me from taking in the midnight show.

I am also a HUGE Lecter fan. There ain’t many villians who can knock him down. Chigurh came close in No Country. So it will be with great trepidation that I see Dark Knight.

But see it, I shall. Love Christopher Nolan and any support I can give him is money well spent.

And thanks for the warning about the kiddies. My nine-year-old is dying to see it. I’m more worried about the length than the content, however. He has a small bladder . . .

    😉

    Jeff,
The hard part for me will be trying to put aside Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of the Joker.

    Michael & Kansas Bob,
I gotta tell ya…IMHO, this is NOT a dollar movie/DVD kind of movie. Go see it in the stereo surround-sound big screen theater, if you can. 🙂

    Tina, go for it.

    tysdaddy,
I should have put Chigurh on the list. 🙂

    Sam,
Hard to say, but I think Ledger's version will make you forget Nicholson. 🙂

    Mork,
    Who??

Alright. I’ve seen it now. Ledger was amazing! But I’ve spent more time with Lecter. Especially in Silence of the Lambs. He’s still the best . . .
