Musician. Composer. Recovering perfectionist. Minister-in-transition. Lover of puns. Hijacker of rock song references. Questioner of the status quo. I'm not really a rebel. Just a sincere Christ-follower with a thirst for significance that gets me into trouble. My quest has taken me over the fence of institutional Christianity. Here are some of my random thoughts along the way. Read along, join in the conversation. Just be nice.

I was in Paris on business, training a client on some new software features in our product. I was in the training lab configuring the product for the upcoming training. One of the staff came in and said, "A plane just hit the world trade center". Now, these guys were known for practical jokes and such so I just said, "Yeah, right." The guy looked at me and said, "No, really. The World Trade Center is on fire." They had CNBC up on the TV and I just stood there in horror as I realized I was now trapped in a foreign country, away from my family. Phone lines were either down or clogged. My flight was cancelled. And I had no where to go once my stint was up…

I was siting on the floor of our Idaho home, feeding our 6 1/2 month old twins. Mark was still getting ready for work, and I was watching Foxnews when the first plane hit. I still remember the horror as I watched the second plane hit live. I fell twice before I made it to the bedroom to tell my husband. I think I stayed in front of the television for the next three months straight. I still cry when I think about it — just the other day a was watching a movie and I saw the twin towers and I just broke down.
